So Many Options For How to Take advantage Of Scratch Sports
OPTION 1:
Internal Local Club Championship Conduct a local club event
If you have a club champion for men, women, and couples, think about adding a “Scratch Golf Champion.” Run the tournament for a month with weekly winners receiving prizes for the lowest and highest scores. At the end of the month the person with the lowest score becomes your “Scratch Golf Champion.” Awarding prizes weekly encourages people to play more than once. Add their picture to the wall of fame and now you have a local event started every year. You may want to think about letting the proceeds go to a charitable cause. There is less than a 10% chance that someone will score below par. You may want to consider selling the cards year-round and offering discounts in the pro shop or credit at the club for scores under par.
Option 1 Ideas
A. Scratch Sports Golf Cards are a fun and effortless way to add incremental non-golf revenue for your course year-round. Course sells cards for $10-20. All cards with a score under par receive a FREE Round of Golf. All other cards receive $10 off Round of Golf or Merchandise Certificate redeemable in Pro Shop. Low and High Score each week receives a dozen Golf Balls, Merchandise Certificate redeemable in Pro Shop, etc.
B. Club Tournaments/Events – Club Championship, Couples Championship, Member/Guest And Others
Depending on the entry fee for tournament, Course may elect to sell Cards for $50+ and include extra benefits – Raffle Tickets, entry into Long Drive and Closest to the Pin Competitions, Putting Contest, Merchandise Certificates at Pro Shop, etc.
OPTION 2:
For an event you organize and host
When you organize and host an event you can use the cards as a supplement to add more fun to your golf tournament. In addition to having a winner for your tournament, you provide the opportunity for players to win with the low and/or high score on the scratch card. By printing on the backs of the cards you can use them to sell mulligans, hole prizes, and on course contests. It reduces the number of volunteers needed and it eliminates the nickel-and-diming golfers on the course. Sell the cards at a profit above your cost for the cards and your prizes.
Option 2 Ideas
Course sells Cards for $25. All cards with a score under par receive a FREE Round of Golf. Low and High Score each receive a $50 Merchandise Certificate redeemable in Pro Shop. Course may include extra benefits – Raffle Tickets, entry into Long Drive and Closest to the Pin Competitions.
OPTION 3:
For an event hosted by an outside organizer
Purchase the cards from us and sell them to the tournament organizer. Your profit is in the markup you put on the cards. They put together their own contests and determine what prizes they want to offer. You may also want to think about putting together the prize package for them and sell the cards at a profit above your cost. If it is a charitable organization, you can donate back to their cause for each scratch card you sell.
Option 3 Ideas
A. Charity purchases Scratch Cards from Course for $6 per card and uses them as they choose. Make it a Super Ticket and include Raffle Tickets, Mulligans, Hole Contests, etc.
B. Charity purchases Scratch Card from Course for $20 per card and receive the same benefits as above, including:
All cards with a score under par receive a FREE Round of Golf or Dozen Balls. All other cards receive $10 Merchandise Credit at Pro Shop.
